JOBSEEKERS looking to enter the construction industry were given expert advice by a Rotherham firm,

Willmott Dixon Partnerships’ branch in the town celebrated Adult Learners’ Week gave eight local people valuable hands-on work experience.

They took part in an eight-week programme with the repairs and maintenance specialist, which included basic trade and DIY skills, clearing void properties and upgrading gardens.

The group will now complete industry standard tests required to pursue a career in the industry.

Firm managing director Mick Williamson said: “Our business is committed to lifelong learning and providing opportunities to gain experience in the maintenance and construction industry.”

The initiative was organised through the company’s Opening Doors scheme and Jobcentre Plus.
