A NATIONAL hotel chain has handed Doncaster a jobs boost with the opening of its second venue in Doncaster.

Budget brand Travelodge says its 67 room development at Lakeside Boulevard will create 14 jobs. The building is opposite the Lakeside Village outlet centre.

Bosses say they will be starting recruitment immediately, and are looking for receptionists, night receptionists, cleaners and housekeepers.

Laura Dover, Travelodge’s district manager for Yorkshire, said: “There is a desperate need for branded low-cost accommodation from business and leisure travellers in Doncaster, which is why we have invested in opening a new Travelodge hotel in the town.

“I am very excited about opening Doncaster’s second Travelodge and I am looking forward to bringing the best team together, to help make this hotel a great success.”

Doncaster Lakeside Travelodge is one of nine hotels opening in the lead-up to Christmas which has created 163 jobs across the UK.

The nine openings will also boost the company’s portfolio to 497 hotels and over 35,000 rooms.
