Bryan of the right vintage

A DEDICATED Derbyshire haulage firm boss has been bestowed with an unusual honour by the National Tramway Museum.

Bryan Scott, of Scott's Heavy Haulage based in Alfreton, has been helping the museum in Crich Tramway Village to move vintage trams and other heavy equipment for over 10 years.

To thank him for his help the museum has given him honorary membership of the Tramway Museum Society.

John Shawcross, board member responsible for engineering at the museum, said: “Bryan has helped us to move numerous vintage trams and equipment over the years, from all over the UK and Europe.

“His detailed specialist knowledge and highly-skilled staff have been invaluable to us when moving our trams which can weigh up to 16 tonnes.”

The most recent tram to be moved by Scott's Heavy Haulage was Cardiff 131 which had been stored off-site and needed to be brought into the workshop for restoration.
