A broken-down tram caused disruption for Sheffield passengers this morning.

Blue trams did not operate between Beighton/Drake House Lane and Halfway for several hours due to what Stagecoach Supertram described as a ‘slow speed incident’.

The problem is believed to have occurred during a driver training exercise that took place before trams started running this morning.

Services had been terminating at Beighton due to the incident, with passengers between Beighton and Halfway being advised to use the Stagecoach 120 bus service to town.

The route has now been cleared, with services returning to normal around 9.30am.
