Britain's Got Talent duo launch martial arts programme
TWO black belt fighters from South Yorkshire are striking out in a new direction after finding fame on Britain's Got Talent.
Martial arts duo Strike – alias Danny Ball, aged 23, and Liam Richards, 20 – have developed choreographed moves set to music to encourage more youngsters to swap their games consoles for high kicks.
The pair launched their children's martial arts programme, aimed at five- to 16-year-olds, with a high-energy demonstration in London.
The initiative comes after the pair wowed audiences with their skills on ITV show Britain's Got Talent, winning through to the final.
Danny, of Armthorpe, Doncaster, started training when he was 12 and is now a fourth dan black belt.
He has more than 100 competition gold medals and has worked with martial arts movie-star Jean-Claude Van Damme.
Liam, of Waterthorpe, Sheffield, is a third dan black belt, and has been training since he was seven.
He has won British and world titles in freestyle karate and kickboxing and now runs his own martial arts school in Sheffield.
Danny said: "Performance martial arts has changed my life. It's given me so much enjoyment and pleasure over the years and it's great to be taking this discipline to many more children and young people and give them the opportunity to benefit from it as I did."
