THE last two cooling towers at the old Thorpe Marsh power station near Doncaster have been demolished.

The final pair of the six original concrete towers were pulled down shortly after dawn yesterday by demolition experts from Able UK. Residents of Barnby Dun were not disturbed because no explosives were used.

See tomorrow’s Star for details and reaction.
