BREAKING: Police probe into death of man found injured in Sheffield house

A police probe is underway into the death of a man found injured in a house in Sheffield, with a police cordon in place on a city estate.

Officers have sealed off a house in Southey Avenue, Longley, with surrounding streets also cordoned off.

A 21-year-old man was found injured in the house last night and he was rushed to hospital but could not be saved.

A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: " Police were called to a house in the Longley area of Sheffield at about 9.45pm last night following reports that a 21-year-old man had been injured."The man was taken to hospital but sadly died later that evening."Detectives are in the initial stages of an investigation to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.

"At this time, a cordon remains in place at the scene in Southey Avenue."Anyone with information should call South Yorkshire Police on 101.
