TRAMS in Sheffield city centre were halted this morning while paramedics dealt with a man found injured on the tracks.

The injured pedestrian was slumped on the ground near the Santander Bank, on the corner of York Street.

A tram heading to Herdings Park was forced to come to a standstill a few metres away while emergency services dealt with the pedestrian.

He fell over as he was crossing the tracks and suffered a minor head injury.
