A street near Doncaster town centre was sealed off this afternoon after a man was found collapsed.
The unconconscious man, who has not been identified, was reported by a passer-by in Lawn Road, off Thorne Road, just after 12.20pm.
Both Lawn Road and Lawn Avenue, which are close to Hall Cross School, were blocked to vehicles.
A towel and toilet roll, possibly used to tend the casualty, could be seen lying on the pavement outside the Moorland Court flats but residents said they did not know what had happened.
Pc Della Leasley, of Doncaster police, said: “We don’t know who he is at present and we are still investigating what has happened. We would like any members of the public who can help us with information to come forward.”
It is believed the man has a head injury that is not life-threatening and officers are carryng out enquiries to see if the injury was caused maliciously or by accident.
The street is expected to be closed to traffic for a couple of hours at least.
