DONCASTER Council is looking to hand over the running of Keepmoat Stadium to Doncaster Rovers, documents have confirmed today.

The council’s ruling cabinet will make a decision on the future of the stadium next week, but papers released this morning reveal the club would pay the authority an annual fee to take the venue over, rather than buying it outright.

Mayor Peter Davies is keen to offload the venue, built at a cost of £32 million to the taxpayer, because of the losses it has made.
