BREAKING: Armed police officers pull over minibus on Sheffield Parkway

Armed police have pulled over a minibus on the Sheffield Parkway.

An eye-witness contacted The Star to say ten armed officers with police dogs stopped a silver taxi-style minibus close to the junction with Derek Dooley Way at around 12.30pm.

The person who didn't wish to be named said: "I was heading towards the motorway and I've seen loads of armed police with dogs surround this taxi.

"As I went past the driver had his hands on his head and was being asked to get out of the minibus."

Jenny Lapping posted on a picture from the scene which read: "Armed police on Sheffield Parkway. Man pulled from taxi #Sheffield #SYPolice No idea what that could be about!?"

South Yorkshire Police has been contacted for a comment.
