A brave 11-year-old proved she was top of the crops by raising £1,000 for charity by having her long locks shaved off.
Ella Watson, of Harrowden Road, Wheatley, decided to take on the daring challenge to raise cash for Cancer Research.
As well as raising £1,000 in sponsorship money Ella also donated her hair to be made into a wigs to help children with hair loss conditions.
Ella said: “I wanted to raise money for cancer research because I think it’s a really good cause.
“I wasn’t really nervous about doing it, more excited really.
“My friends and family have been really supportive they have helped me get sponsorship.
“I would also like to thank the businesses in Bowers Fold and Market Place for their kind raffle donations.”
Ella was cheered on by her family as she went under the clippers at Salon 15 in Bowers Fold. Dad Mike said: “We’re really proud of her. When Ella came up with the idea we took her to one side and said are you sure about this but she was determined this was what she wanted to do. She was absolutely fantastic and had good support.”
