DRONFIELD Band is tuning up and showing its support for top dementia charity Lost Chord.

The award-winning brass band has chosen the organisation that provides interactive musical experiences for people living with dementia in care homes and day centres across the region as its charity of the year.

And the band’s first major fundraising event will be its annual black tie dinner at Sheffield Park Hotel, Norton, on October 29.

“We heard about Lost Chord from our friend Tessa Bramley, the owner of the Old Vicarage Restaurant, who is a keen supporter, and we thought it was the ideal charity for us to give our backing to,” said the band’s chairman, Adrian Wood.

“As musicians, we know what music can mean to people and the work Lost Chord is doing in the field of dementia is amazing.”

Tickets to the dinner, which includes a four-course meal, raffle and entertainment, cost just £25 each.
