Branson donation to locate jet skier
BILLIONAIRE business tycoon Richard Branson has made a donation to a fund set up to help find a missing South Yorkshire jet skier.
He offered his support after learning of the plight of 41-year-old Jeremy Hoyland, from Penistone, who has not been seen since Friday after vanishing on a sea scooter trip off the holiday island of Bali.
The jet ski ace was in Bali for the Asian Beach Games after being invited by the organisers. He was due to preside over a sea scooter race on the day he disappeared but never turned up.
His friend Jonathan Oddie said: "He has been missing since Friday but the search is continuing because you have to hope that he may have made it onto one of the islands where communication is poor, so getting a message out may be difficult."
"Posters were air-dropped onto the islands yesterday containing his photos."
Mr Branson's financial donation is to help fund the search and rescue operation.
