CARE for brain injury patients in South Yorkshire has received a welcome boost.

County-based Westfield Health has donated £20,000 to charity Headway, which supports people with a brain injury, their families and carers from branches across Sheffield, Barnsley, Rotherham and Doncaster.

The windfall will be used to help Headway continue to work with regional co-ordinators who oversee the work of the local groups, helping them to deliver support services tailored to each community’s needs.

Lorna Page, fundraiser for Headway, said: “Headway helps raise general awareness of brain injury, promotes understanding as well as offering access to rehabilitation support, professional services and social events.

“None of our vital services are possible without generous donations to help with our costs and we are hugely grateful to Westfield Health.

“It will make a difference to those living with the effects of brain injury.”
