YOUNGSTERS from around South Yorkshire were presented with the Boys’ Brigade’s highest honour in a ceremony at Sheffield Town Hall.

Lord Mayor, Coun Sylvia Dunkley, and Lord Lieutenant of South Yorkshire, David Moody presented the Queen’s Badge Award to 16 members of the organisation.

A Boys’ Brigade spokesman said it was the highest award members can achieve.

Award winners, who included Julie Birch, from Shiregreen and Josh Hoyland and Matthew Vause, from Crookes, were accompanied by their parents plus senior representatives of the Boys’ Brigade – President of the Yorkshire and Humberside District, Rob Lolley, and district patron, Sir James Hill.
