Boy, 15, remanded in custody over stab murder

A BOY aged 15 was remanded in custody today charged with murder after a young man was stabbed to death.

The accused, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was charged after 18-year-old Joseph Smith, of Darlington Grove, Moorends, Doncaster, was stabbed to death in Moorends on Wednesday.

A post mortem examination revealed he died from a single stab wound to the chest.

The teenager charged over the death appeared before Doncaster magistrates.

He will have a bail application heard at Sheffield Crown Court on Monday, and then re-appear at Doncaster Youth Court on Thursday.
