Boxing scheme wins award

A BOXING-based fitness scheme run by police for youngsters in Chesterfield and North Derbyshire has been presented with an award by the Sheffield Steelers ice hockey team.

The award will be displayed in the OzBox gym at Chesterfield police station.

PC Lee Oldham from Derbyshire Police handed the award to OzBox.

He wanted to honour the work the boxing-based initiative does for young people to keep them off the streets and get them involved in fitness.

OzBox founder Steve Osbaldeston, MBE, said: “We are honoured that professional sportsmen from the Sheffield Steelers and their manager Mike O’Connor have taken time out to present this award and recognise our work within the community.”
