Former professional boxer Chris Hall ran the Sheffield half marathon oblivious to news it had been cancelled.
Chris, known as The Lightning before his career was cut short by brain cyst, completed the course in two hours 30 minutes, raising more than £1,000 for Cancer Research UK.
The 33-year-old, of Richmond, said: “The cancellation hasn’t put me off. To me it was a personal challenge because I used to be active and haven’t for the last nine years.
“Spectators were fantastic around the course.”
Chris, who now runs his own metal management business, was diagnosed with a colloid cyst after a routine scan, and lost his boxing licence.
