A PSYCHOLOGY professor from The University of Sheffield has co-edited a new book of answers to unusual questions about human emotions by leading UK experts.
Each chapter in the offbeat book - Should I Strap A Battery To My Head? (And Other Questions About Emotion) - poses a different question which is answered using scientific evidence.
The book reveals which moods can give that Eureka moment, is it better to come second or third, and even can good moods kill?
All proceeds from the book, co-edited by Prof Peter Totterdell, will go to a mental health charity to fund further research.
It will be launched at a free event on Friday at 6pm in Mappin Hall, Sir Frederick Mappin Building, Mappin Street, which will include a screening of a specially commissioned short film.
All the authors who contributed to the book are members or associates of the Economic and Social Research Council funded project Emotion Regulation of Others and Self.
