Boneshaker roads of city

Have your say

Having been on holiday in North Wales and travelling around by car, I would have known we were in England if I’d been blindfolded!

The state of the roads from the Welsh border (cross country) are just awful. When we crossed into Sheffield, again, blindfolded I would have known as Sheffield roads aren’t just bad, they’re appalling. No wonder so many people have joint pains. Boneshakers every one of them!

During the past week I’ve been to the Hallamshire Hospital, over from there to the Northern General and back home to Norton Lees and the roads have been terrible. Not one is as good as in Wales.

What I’d like to know is, if Wales can have such good roads, why can’t we? Also, where does all our road tax go to as it is obviously not spent on the roads in England, Sheffield in particular?

Making our area look good

I WOULD like to place on record my thanks to our three Conisbrough and Denaby Main ward councillors, Holland, Mills and Sahman and the Neighbourhood Team for the excellent work they carried out on Wiltshire Avenue, Denaby Main.

A new gully has been installed and an untidy area of bushes has been pruned back. This makes the area look and feel better for everyone.

It’s small improvements like these that have massive benefits for the community.

Play outside

A COUPLE of my neighbours aren’t very happy with my kids playing outside. I know these people are pensioners but if kids don’t play outside does that mean they have to stay in the house?

Kids used to play outside.

Pension change

i JUST read a letter about changes to women’s pensions. I know nothing of this. Can anyone tell me what they are and who they will affect?
