Bomb squad called to Ikea building site in Sheffield

The bomb squad has been called to the new Ikea building site in Sheffield.

Workmen uncovered what they thought was an old World War II bomb at around 8am today and raised the alarm.

A police cordon was put in place around the site until experts from the army's bomb disposal unit examined the device and found it was a shell casing.

Building work on the £60 million Ikea store, next to Meadowhall Retail Park, off Sheffield Road, Tinsley, started earlier this month.
