A TOURIST attraction in Derbyshire has been closed to visitors following the discovery of a woman’s body.
The 54-year-old was found dead in the river at Creswell Crags just before 6.30pm yesterday.
Derbyshire Police said officers are ‘keeping an open mind’ about the circumstances surrounding the death of the woman, from Nottinghamshire.
Formal identification has yet to take place and a post-mortem examination is due to be carried out.
Anyone who was at Creswell Crags yesterday should call police on 101.
DCI Andy Sproson, from Derbyshire Police, said: “Unfortunately we have had to ask for the crags to be closed to the public while we continue our enquiries. We apologise for any inconvenience to tourists and local people.”
