A TEAM of bobbies swapped the beat for their bikes when they cycled from Bolsover to Skegness in memory of a former colleague.
The 24 police officers cycled the 85-mile route in memory of the late Graham ‘Bomber’ Moore, who was a sergeant at Chesterfield.
His widow Lynn Moore, a retired PC, has organised the event for the past nine years and money raised will be donated to Cancer Research UK and PACT, which provides assistance for families of children with Leukaemia.
She provided refreshments for the bikers along the route.
Since the event started, around £20,000 has been raised for the two charities.
Three of the fundraisers fell off during this year’s ride, after a collision and another had a blow out after hitting a pothole.
