WITH a name like Bentley, you’d expect them to be good runners.
And that’s exactly what you get with Mark and Laura Bentley who are helping raise funds for local children and young people with a shortened life expectancy.
The super-fit married couple from Loxley, who both work at the HSBC, have chosen Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice as their charity.
On top of their five weekly runs, the HSBC bankers also take part in speed sessions with the Hallamshire Harriers and the odd marathon.
Mark, aged 37, and Laura, 24, will be covering at least 100 competitive miles this year in races and hope to raise £2,013.
Laura, who work’s at the bank’s Meadowhall branch, said: “Mark and I have three children, I know that if we were in a similar situation as some of these brave families then we would want Bluebell Wood to receive as much support in fundraising as it gives in care.
“If every race we complete means a family can have extra support from Bluebell Wood then that thought is a big boost to keep us running the full distance,” she added.
The super fit couple will be entering races until December.
They’ve signed up for the Lord Mayor’s 10km in April, the Sheffield Half Marathon and Manchester 10km in May.
In September they’ll be taking part in the Great Yorkshire run, in October, it’s the York Marathon and Percy Pud 10km in December.
