LABOUR Party members are holding a street stall in Broomhill to encourage members of the public to support an e-petition against the Government’s planned NHS bill.
The legislation will give GPs control of commissioning patient care but critics fear it will mean part-privatisation of NHS services.
The event will take place on Saturday, from 11am to 3pm, in the suburb’s main shopping area.
Paul Blomfield, Labour MP for Sheffield Central, will be at the stall to lend his support.
Labour is targeting the ward in May’s council elections, where former Lib Dem council leader Paul Scriven is defending his seat.
Labour won a seat in Broomhill from the Lib Dems at last year’s election when they swept to power.
