Blaze homes evacuated
A PROBE is under way into the cause of a blaze which led to the evacuation of residents from five homes in the early hours of today.
Fire investigators and detectives are due to visit Bellbank Way, Athersley North in Barnsley, later this morning to try to establish what caused the blaze.
It started in an outhouse and spread to the roof space of one adjoining property and to the eaves and guttering of another on the terraced street.
The fire service said five homes were evacuated altogether.
