Firefighters are tonight tackling another two blazes at the former Sheffield Ski Village site.

Rivelin fire station was called out to the incident after several calls from the public about black smoke billowing from the derelict area in Parkwood Springs at around 7pm.

South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue confirmed there were two seats of fire, one involving tyres and another near to Cookswood Road, Shirecliffe.

The ski village was closed after an accidental fire razed it to the ground in 2012 and has been plagued by arson attacks and vandalism since.

The last fire was in June, when a large pile of rubber matting material which was previously used to make up the slope’s surface was found to be well alight.
