Birthday girl’s big charity do
A BIRTHDAY girl who turns 50 today is holding a sell-out fundraising ball as part of the celebrations.
Joanne Palmer, of Crookes in Sheffield, is hoping to raise over £4,000 with the event for 300 people at St Paul’s Hotel in the city centre on Saturday.
Money raised will go towards MS and Parkinson’s disease charities, causes close to Joanne’s heart as her dad Michael Taylor died at 77 from Parkinson’s three years ago.
Her sister, Tina Gilbert, 52, has also been diagnosed with MS.
Joanne, who works for B Braun Medical, said: “With both conditions the nurses have been so excellent that I really wanted to thank them.”
Firms aiding the ball include B Braun, which has provided a champagne reception.
