TWO motorcyclists have been killed in separate collisions, one of which closed a main road in Sheffield.

One crash was on Prince of Wales Road yesterday, at about 6am. It caused delays for runners heading to the Sheffield Half Marathon as traffic was diverted.

A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: “The collision was near the junction with Queen Mary Road, Manor.”

Meanwhile, a 49-year-old motorcyclist was killed on the A623 at Stoney Middleton, near Bakewell, on Saturday, at 2.45pm, after his Kawasaki bike collided with a Land Rover.

Witnesses should call police on 0114 220 2970 for the Sheffield incident, or 01773 572929 for the A623 collision.
