A MOTORCYCLIST suffered a broken arm and leg when his bike hit a lamppost.

The 25-year-old, from Sheffield, was travelling along Grimesthorpe Road towards Pitsmoor, when his bike left the road outside the Wood Hill Grange nursing home and crashed into the lamppost.

Police said the injured biker was taken to the Northern General Hospital for treatment after the smash.

Officers investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision, at 2.50pm on Thursday, want to hear from witnesses or anyone with information.
