Classes multiplied for a recent maths challenge at Mexborough Academy.
The event was held to encourage families to get together to work on projects children were doing in school.
Head of maths Joy Harvey said activities included a treasure hunt, relay race, a quiz and co-ordinate cross stitching.
“The evening’s designed to show maths in real world applications and that it can be fun!” she said. “We had some very positive feedback. One parent said they’d enjoyed attending and it had also been an opportunity to spend time with their son. Another said it had given them an insight into what was studied in school.”
Headteacher Richard Wood said: “One of our aims is to create closer links between the community and the academy. Evenings like this are perfect in helping achieve that,”
