Bawtry Town Council has made numerous requests for the double yellow lines on Tickhill Road to be extended to deter motorists from parking vehicles at the side of the road and causing a hazard on the main highway into and out of the town.
The highways authority has indicated that speed reduction work is planned for this year or next year on Station Road, Tickhill Road and Gainsborough Road.
But it has not yet been announced what form the measures will take.
