MEETINGS have been held between Sheffield Council officials, armed forces and veterans’ representatives to help improve services for forces personnel.
Sheffield Council is improving what support it offers, particularly for those leaving the Army, Navy or RAF and returning to civilian life.
The changes are being made after the council signed up to the Armed Forces Community Covenant scheme.
Officials have been in discussions with the Yorkshire and the Humber Armed Forces Network, the Reserve Forces and Cadets Association, and health and employment advice workers.
Council leader, Coun Julie Dore, said: “Recognising those who have performed military duty unites the city and demonstrates the value of their contribution.”
