BETTER bus services have been launched to take fans to matches at Chesterfield’s B2Net Stadium as the coming season looms.
Stagecoach’s X17 wi-fi service, which links Sheffield with Matlock via Chesterfield, will now stop near the ground at the Donkey Derby Pub, Sheffield Road following customer requests.
Other changes in the town involve services 70 - Chesterfield-Staveley-Killamarsh - and 77 - Chesterfield-Staveley-Worksop.
The first 70 bus from Killamarsh on Mondays to Fridays will depart earlier and extend beyond Chesterfield New Beetwell Street to Barker Lane, and, on the 77 run, the last bus from Staveley to Chesterfield will start from Lowgates.
Stagecoach is also making changes in Barnsley with a new hourly X19 Sunday service from Barnsley to Doncaster, a frequency increase on buses to Darton and Woolley plus an extra evening journey every night from Crown Avenue, Cudworth, to Lundwood.
Services 67/67A - Barnsley-Hoyland-Wombwell-Darfield-Great Houghton - has timetable and route changes with most journeys during the daytime on Mondays to Saturdays extended beyond Wombwell to serve Darfield, Middlecliffe, Little Houghton and Great Houghton.
There will be an evening and Sunday service on the 67 operating every two hours between Barnsley and Wombwell. New route 67A will link Barnsley and Wombwell via Ward Green and Pilley, instead of Worsbrough Dale, every two hours.
And a new route, 33A, will be trialled, linking Grimethorpe, Park Springs and Great Houghton every hour Monday to Saturday daytimes.
The changes are being introduced from tomorrow.
