SOME of Doncaster Belles international football stars swapped the pitch for an exercise bike to take part in a charity fundraiser.
Maria Karlsson, Kylla Sjoman and Aine O’Gorman took part in the 1469 Charity Bike challenge at the Ramada Encore Doncaster for Beyond the Moon - a charity which offers families with terminally ill children the opportunity to enjoy a holiday far away from hospitals and treatments.
The Doncaster branch of the hotel chain is aiming to raise £3,500, which is the average cost for a holiday for a family through for charity.
Each hotel team was trying to cycle for 127 miles, which adds up to 1,469 when they are all added together.
The footballers are staying at the hotel during their season with the Belles in the women’s Premier League.
Emma Smith, sales manager for Ramada Encore Doncaster said: “We are extremely excited to be taking part in this challenge.
“Hopefully we will raise lots of money for such as worthwhile cause.”
