Beekeeper drives 90 miles to rescue swarm of bees outside Sheffield school
The man sprang into action and made a beeline for Ecclesall Road after warning shared by The Star created a buzz on social media last night.
The swarm was photographed gathered on a bollard on the road, just off Pomono Street and near to Porter Croft primary school.

Hide AdClaire Salt, who sent in the photos, said: “Warning for anyone round the back of Champs, Eccy Rd as there’s bees galore on one of the bollards
“They have been there for much of the day, quite scary as Porter Croft School is close by.”

Beekeeper Phil Cox contacted The Star to inform us that the bees have now been rehomed.

Hide AdHe said: “I collected the bees at 8.30pm. I drove 90 miles from North Somercotes on the East coast. The bees are now in a new hive.”
