BARNSLEY residents are invited to go on a bee safari and help plant some wildflowers.
The event is being held as part of a national push to boost the number of honey bees in the country.
Penistone Friends of the Earth are holding the bee safari on Sunday, September 2, at 11am at Penistone skate park.
Bee hunters will be able to track down bee-friendly plants and identify bee species and other insects as they visit flowers to feed on pollen and nectar.
The safari will end at Penistone Country Park by the River Don where an area of bee-friendly wildflowers will be planted in a joint project with Barnsley Council.
