BEAUTY therapy student Kathryn Levers struck gold in an Olympic-themed nail competition.

The 25-year-old, from Kilnhurst, who is studying at Dearne Valley College, won a Nailympics competition at Bradford College.

Demonstrating a set of nail enhancements, Kathryn finished runner-up in the first competition of the day.

The next contest required her to apply Olympic-themed nail art to 10 nails; and this time she took first prize.

At the end of the competition, Kathryn was named overall winner to earn the title Ultimate Nail Technician, a nail art kit, £150 of training vouchers and a trophy.

Carol Brook, Nailympics programme area manager, said: “It was a brilliant experience for Kathryn. The judges were complimentary about her work.”
