BEAUTY queen Tamsin Hobbs is all set for the bright lights of America after winning a prestigious contest.
Model Tamsin, 22, was crowned as the winner of the Perfect Cover Model 2013 contest for the whole of the UK, beating 70 other hopefuls and will now go head to head with scores of other girls from across the globe in the World’s Perfect Miss competition which will take place in Florida later this year.
She said: “I am humbled to have been chosen to represent the United Kingdom at such a prestigious event.
“I hope my recent success will inspire other young women to follow their dreams in the same way I am doing.”
“Since I started modelling and pageantry in 2010, I have made it my personal goal to see the faces of fashion transformed, where the models are not all 5ft 8ins or taller and a size 0, as I believe women of all shapes and size deserve representation in the industry.”
Hatfield-based Tamsin landed her place at the UK’s national finals in Cardiff after scooping the South Yorkshire title last year.
At the competition in Wales, Tamsin competed in a number of sections including fashion wear, swimwear and beauty and evening gowns before scooping top spot.
She added: “The other girls were amazing and I made lots of friends from around the country.”
The American final will take place in August in Orlando where more than $12,000 worth of prizes including a $2000 cash prize will be up for grabs in the contest, described by organisers as a non-traditional beauty pageant.
She added: “I am looking forward to travelling to America this summer and hope to show what ‘us Yorkshire girls’ can do on that world stage.”
Contest organiser Michael Galanes said: “I started the Perfect Pageant system for young ladies like Tamsin, who believe in and exude in their own skin that radiates their own personal perfection.”
