A North Derbyshire stage starlet has been crowned Miss Chesterfield 2014

Stephanie Hill has been chosen to represent the area at the semi-finals of Miss England next month.

The 19-year-old will be among 80 girls competing for a place in the competition finals, which are to be held in Torquay, Devon, in June.

Elaine Hill, Stephanie’s mum, said: “Stephanie will have a very busy week prior to the semi-finals as she is playing the part of Lady Battersby in Manor Operatic Society’s production of Me And My Girl at the City Hall in Sheffield from May 15 to 18.

“This is Stephanie’s third production with the society and she will travel straight down to the Miss England semi-finals from her matinee performance on the Sunday.”

The contest will begin with an army-style boot camp, before a bridalwear modelling round and an ‘eco outfit’ round, where Stephanie, of Calver, will wear an outfit made of tweed and feathers donated by friends and local tailors.

There is also an evening wear round.

Stephanie has also raised money for the ‘Beauty with a Purpose’ charity through a fashion show at Bakewell Town Hall.
