TO her many friends at the RSPCA’s Sheffield Animal Centre she’s simply Cassie.
But if you use her Sunday name it’s plain to see she’s just like her Greek namesake Cassandra - she’s intelligent, calm and beautiful.
The centre’s animal care manager Tony Benham said: “Cassandra is a magnificent English bull terrier cross.
“But she has had a tough time of it and she is long overdue a good home.
“There is something very soulful and intelligent about her and we just know that she would be really good company for someone looking for a very special furry friend.
“Her gorgeous regal looks match her calm and loving personality and her distinctive smooth and brindle white coat is a delight to stroke.”
Cassie, who is about three years old, has no known health problems, although she is not keen on other dogs.
Tony added: “Although Cassie came originally from a home where she lived with her sister, we believe she needs a garden where she cannot see other doggie neighbours.
“She will happily walk around other dogs on a lead but she really needs to be an only one where she can be centre of attention – she’s very people-orientated.
“Cassie is a sensible, gentle-mannered and steady dog, who is confident without being overly bouncy. She loves to be pampered with love - and to take a long snooze!”
The centre is open every day except Wednesdays from 12.30pm to 3.30pm. Call 0114 289 8050. The centre is also looking for foster homes.
