BOXING enthusiasts who have staged an annual fight show for the last six years have broken the £30,000 mark for money raised to help local charities.

The fight fans who train at Sheffield Boxing Centre, Hillsborough, held their latest show last month at Bramall Lane in aid of charities including appeals set up by the families of poorly youngsters Ella Frith and Ben O’Brien, and Sheffield Children’s Hospital.

Ella and Ben called in at the gym to collect the latest cheques from this year’s boxing show. Organiser John McCormack, of Hunters Bar, said that £30,600 has now been raised for good causes since the first show in 2007.
