A heartbroken pet owner is hand-delivering 5,000 leaflets to homes in an attempt to find her missing cat.

Chloe Brown was first alerted that one of her beloved pet cats, Saffron, had gone missing in July while she was on a trip in Asia.

The 26-year-old had left Saffron, and her other cat Apollo, with a friend back in Barnsley.

At some point in April Saffron went missing without a trace, but Chloe says she wasn’t told of the disappearance until some months later.

“My friend didn’t tell me Saffron was missing until July,” said Chloe. “When I was told I got straight on a flight back home so I could try to find her.

“I’ve set up a Facebook page and a Twitter account about her disappearance, I’ve put a video of her on YouTube, and I’ve registered her missing on every pet website I can find.

“I’m devastated that she’s gone – I have to find her.”

In an attempt to locate the missing moggy, Chloe is now hand-delivering 5,000 leaflets to homes in areas between Corporation Street in Barnsley, from where Saffron went missing, and her home in Lundwood, with the hope someone has seen her pet.

Chloe said: “I think she’ll be trying to find her way home but might have got lost, or someone might have taken her in thinking she’s a stray.”

Saffron has distinctive golden-brown striped leopard-type markings, and is microchipped.

Anyone with information on Saffron should call Chloe on 07568 386 061.
