Three Barnsley museums are reviewing their opening times to ensure they are available to visitors at the right time.
Cannon Hall Museum, Experience Barnsley and Worsbrough Mill will all alter their opening hours in time for the start of the summer holidays.
Worsbrough Mill will be open seven days a week through the school break from 10am-4pm, but will be closed on weekdays outside the holidays.
Experience Barnsley will be open Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm, while weekend opening hours remain unchanged - 10am to 4pm on Saturdays and 11am to 4pm on Sundays.
Cannon Hall Museum will be open from 10am to 4pm Tuesday to Friday and 11am to 4pm on weekends until November 1, when it will become weekends-only from noon to 4pm.
Coun Roy Miller, cabinet spokesman for Place, said: “We’ve been analysing visitor footfall at all three sites and the opening hours have been revised in order to make it easier for people come and enjoy them.
The review at Worsbrough Mill also allows for an increase in commercial milling, as well as a wider opportunity to see how flour is produced, which will assist the site in income generation.
“There’s so much to do at all three sites and I hope that people will make the most of these new opening hours to enjoy some great days out.”
