South Yorkshire MP Dan Jarvis is swapping politics for fundraising – when he takes part in a 20-mile race.
Mr Jarvis, Labour MP forBarnsley Central, is due to compete in the Marsden to Edale Trigger Race to raise cash for Woodhead Mountain Rescue Team tomorrow.
The race will take him from Marsden, over Black Hill, Bleaklow and Kinder, to Edale, visiting three checkpoints en route.
He is also planning on running the Virgin Money London Marathon in aid of Cancer Research UK on Sunday, April 13.
Mr Jarvis said: “I’m looking forward to the challenge of tomorrow’s race, albeit with some trepidation.
“There is nothing like a trek across the Peak District to refresh you following a long, hard week in Westminster.”
