PILATES, Zumba and a host of other fitness classes will be on offer after a South Yorkshire leisure centre received a makeover.

Hoyland Leisure Centre was officially reopened by Coun Tim Shepherd, Barnsley Council Labour member for Hoyland Milton, who performed a ribbon cutting ceremony after the centre underwent a refit.

There is a bigger gym, 25 extra pieces of exercise equipment, a TRX suspension frame – for a workout likened to yoga on ropes – and a bigger training area.

Two of the squash courts have been converted into group exercise areas allowing for classes including spinning, pilates and Zumba.
