Barnsley fan who took live hamster to football match criticised by RSPCA
The RSPCA has criticised a Barnsley football fan who brought a live hamster to their match against Walsall on Saturday.
Footage posted on social media shows a fan with the rodent in his hood as he stands with Barnsley football fans during their game away at Walsall.
Fans nearby chant ‘he’s got a hamster in his hood’ during the clip.
But animal welfare charity the RSPCA condemned the move.

Hide AdA spokesman said: “Taking any animal to a noisy, crowded environment such as a football match is likely to be stressful.
“These are animals that need a predictable routine with warmth, peace and quiet and a place to hide in if needed.”
