A BUSINESS woman has fixed it for Jimmy Savile’s famous yellow bubble car to have pride of place in one of her new care homes.
Angela Swift paid £22,00 for the three wheeler during an auction of Sir Jimmy’s personal belongings.
The 13-hour sale, which raised £320,000 for his charities, saw the broadcasting legend’s Rolls-Royce go for £130,000 and his red Jim’ll Fix It chair reach £8,500.
Angela bought the bubble car because Sir Jimmy visited one of her care homes in Yarm, near Stockton-on-Tees, and would not take a fee, although other celebrities asked for between £15,000 and £20,000 to turn up.
Angela said she wanted to replay the generosity and give something back to his charitable trust.
She bought the car - a 1965 BMW Isetta 300 Plus - to be the centrepiece of a new care home her firm, Silk Health Care, opening in Barnsley.
Angela said: “It’s a way of giving something back to his charity.
“He was just a caring person. He’s special. There’s no one like him.”
“I know that when Sir Jimmy sees it in the home he’ll be watching and I think he’ll know it’s the right place for it to be.”
