BARTENDERS from Sheffield were shaken and stirred when they helped set a new world record for cocktail making.
Chris Kaye and Elliot Sayliss, from TGI Friday’s restaurant at Meadowhall, and Russell Ward from the chain’s Tinsley branch, joined colleagues from around the country in setting a Guinness World Record for the most people in a simultaneous Tom Cruise-style ‘cocktail flair’.
More than 100 drinks-makers carried out a skilfully-co-ordinated routine which lasted for more than two minutes, without dropping a bottle, spilling a drop, or falling out of sync.
Chris said the event – part of the firm’s 25th anniversary celebrations – was a “brilliant day”.
He said: “To set a world record is absolutely incredible and the atmosphere on the day was very special.
“We have an amazing team and it was great to all achieve something like this together.”
Managing director Karen Forrester said that the bar tenders did an “incredible job”.
